A recent visit to Griffith, New South Wales by the Labour Attaché was carried out as part of a welfare response following several concerns raised with the High Commission.
The trip aimed to strengthen support for Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) workers and ensure their wellbeing remained a central priority.
While in Griffith, the Labour Attaché met with workers from Rombola Family Farm, providing them with an opportunity to share their concerns directly. These discussions allowed workers to raise issues openly, and the Labour Attaché responded by offering clarifications and guidance in line with PALM scheme guidelines.
In addition to meeting with workers, the Labour Attaché also held discussions with Rombola Family Farm management. This engagement focused on addressing the concerns raised by employees and ensuring that both parties had a shared understanding of expectations, responsibilities, and program requirements. The dialogue helped reinforce the importance of maintaining clear communication and fostering a supportive working environment.
Workers expressed satisfaction with the support they have been receiving from the High Commission’s office, noting that the visit further strengthened their confidence in the assistance available to them.
The visit underscored the High Commission’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its citizens working under the PALM scheme and highlighted the value of proactive engagement between workers, employers, and government representatives.
The High Commission further advises that upcoming visitation plans for other states will be published on the High Commission’s official Facebook page, and workers are encouraged to stay informed through the platform for updates and announcements.
