Mission Mandate and Overview

The Vanuatu High Commission in Canberra Australia’s main responsibilities are:

  1. to promote and maintain good relations with Australia, at Federal, State and Territory level, including through other bodies – International Organizations, International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and International Business Houses, etc. – and
  2. to pursue mutually beneficial, friendly and development-oriented relations, with countries cross accredited to Vanuatu with diplomatic residence in Australia.

Additional functions of the High Commission are to provide and extend designated Immigration services as well extending protocol and consular services to Vanuatu dignitaries, citizens, and non-citizens.
