His Excellency Mr Jimmy Nipo, High Commissioner of the Republic of Vanuatu to Australia, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr Mikhail Petrakov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Australia, in Canberra.
The courtesy call provided an opportunity for the two Heads of Mission to exchange views and discuss matters of mutual interest, including opportunities to further strengthen relations and cooperation between Vanuatu and the Russian Federation.
The meeting forms part of High Commissioner Nipo’s diplomatic engagements following the presentation of his Letters of Credence to the Governor-General of Australia on 5 August 2026. Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade lists Mr Nipo as Vanuatu’s High Commissioner and Mr Petrakov as Russia’s Ambassador to Australia.
The Vanuatu High Commission looks forward to continued engagement with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Canberra in advancing areas of common interest and strengthening bilateral relations.
