The Vanuatu community in Canberra recently held its second gathering to celebrate the Easter holiday, commemorating the resurrection of Christ. The event took place in Kambah ACT and provided an opportunity for members of the community to reconnect.
The gathering was honoured by the presence of Hon. Johnny Koanapo, Deputy Prime Minister of Vanuatu, who attended with his family. In his address, he emphasised the importance of maintaining strong connections within the community, highlighting that unity and cohesion are essential in preserving and celebrating Vanuatu’s identity abroad.
The event was a great success, reflecting the strong spirit of togetherness among the Vanuatu diaspora. The community is now looking forward to hosting another gathering in May 2026 to welcome H.E. Jimmy Nipo, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Vanuatu to Australia.
